Kelly McCarthy

A 1989 graduate of North Ridgeville High School, Kelly went on to study sociology at The University of Akron. After earning her BA she worked at a halfway home for adult women being transitioned from prison back to society. In 1997 Kelly graduated with her Masters of Science Degree in Education from The University of Akron. She worked in residence life and student activities at The University of Pittsburgh in Titusville, PA as well as Cleveland State University in the Department of Student Life. Currently, Kelly is an Academic Support Coach for the Early College High School at Lorain County Community College.

Kelly and her husband, Frank have one daughter, Megan. Megan is a junior at North Ridgeville Ranger High-Tech Academy.

Kelly has served the City of North Ridgeville on the School Board since May of 2011. During her tenure on the School Board, she has also served on the School Board of Lorain County JVS and on the NR Parks and Recreation Commission. Kelly proudly serves as an active member of the North Ridgeville Lions Club.

Kelly's passion is quality education for all students. She supports an educational environment that is safe and academically challenging. Kelly believes an educational system needs to be built on mutual respect for staff, faculty, students, community, and the administration. Every child should be encouraged to reach their fullest potential and the school system should have the means to provide for the best quality education for their students.
