Bill Fortenberry has a diverse work experience in the sailing industry. Bill began their career as a Sailmaker at Ullman Sails, where they learned all aspects of sail construction and production. Bill then worked as a Sailmaker at North Sails - One Design, participating in sailmaking organization and customer service. After that, they founded and served as President of Sailing Consultants International, where they directed marketing for sailing education services and organized sailing clinics and seminars. Bill then worked as a Nautical Sports Consultant at K-Swiss, where they served as a liaison to America's Cup '95 and provided marketing recommendations. Bill continued their career at Imtra Corporation as a Sailing Products Manager, overseeing product importation and distribution. Currently, they are working at North Sails, holding various roles including Sales Professional in Rhode Island, OEM Sales and Product Manager in Sri Lanka, General Manager in North Sails Asia, Global Market Segments Manager, and most recently as the Commercial Director.
Bill Fortenberry attended California State University, Long Beach from 1988 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1987, they attended the University of Rhode Island and pursued a general education, but did not obtain a degree.
