Tom Hughes

Vice President, Risk Manager at North Shore Bank

Tom Hughes has extensive experience in the banking industry. Tom started their career as a State Bank Examiner at the Department of Banking - State of Iowa in 1982. Tom then worked at First Wyoming Bancorporation, where they served as an Internal Auditor and later as a Loan Review Officer. During their time there, they participated in failed bank purchases and evaluated loan portfolios for the FDIC. In 1988, Tom joined M&I, a Part of BMO Financial Group, as an AVP, Loan Review Manager. Tom worked in various aspects of loan review for nearly 24 years, leading reviews of the bank's largest portfolios and conducting due diligence reviews. Lastly, Tom joined North Shore Bank in 2011 as the Vice President, Risk Manager. In this role, they were responsible for managing loan review function, appraisal monitoring and review process, and providing risk rating assessments and guidance. Tom also oversaw the bank's external loan review engagements and provided reporting on the bank's portfolio performance.
