Saima Khan

Saima Khan, PhD, is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of economics with extensive experience in teaching, consulting, and project leadership. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Economics at North South University since January 2023, Saima teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Economics and Research Methodology. As a consultant for the Asian Development Bank, Saima has been instrumental in identifying educational weaknesses in districts across Bangladesh and recommending data improvements to enhance future research and funding allocations. Saima's previous roles include leading research projects at the Centre for Peace and Justice at BRAC University and conducting significant evaluations of educational interventions in Bangladeshi slums during postdoctoral positions at New York University Abu Dhabi and the National University of Singapore. With a strong educational background, including a PhD in Economics from the National University of Singapore, Saima has demonstrated a commitment to improving educational outcomes and understanding socio-economic conditions in Bangladesh.
