Alastair Richards

Alastair Richards has extensive work experience in various leadership and finance roles. Most recently, they served as the Chief Executive Officer at North West Cancer Research, where they focused on funding research and improving cancer care in the region.

Before that, Alastair worked as a Director at Third Sector Financial Services Ltd, providing financial advice and support to small charities. Alastair also held the position of Director of Resources at Future Directions CIC, where they oversaw the development of a new service provider in the sector.

Alastair's previous roles include Group Executive Director of Finance & ICT at Self Unlimited, Strategic Manager at Carlisle Medical Group Ltd, and Director of Finance & Admin at Vitalise. Alastair has also worked as a Financial Controller at Abbeyfield Medway Valley Society and Abbeyfield Kent Society.

Starting their career as a Regional Finance Trainee at South Thames Regional HA, Alastair gained experience as a Snr Financial Accountant at Ravensbourne NHS Trust.

Throughout their career, Alastair has demonstrated a strong commitment to financial management and strategic planning, achieving notable turnarounds in performance and successfully implementing cost-saving measures.

Alastair Richards attended Rhyddings County High School from 1984 to 1989. Alastair then went on to Blackburn College, Lancashire from 1989 to 1991. Finally, they graduated with a 1st degree in History from Durham University in 1994.
