William Rainbow

Head Of Academy Sport Science at Northampton Town Football Club (Official)

William Rainbow has worked in various roles in the field of sports science and physical education. Since September 2021, they have been working at Northampton Town Football Club, starting as an Assistant Academy Sport Scientist and later becoming the Head of Academy Sport Science. In addition to their work at the club, they also served as a FEP Teaching Assistant and a FEP Strength & Conditioning Coach from September 2021 to June 2022. Prior to their time at the football club, they worked as a Physical Education Teaching Assistant at Simon de Senlis Primary School from October 2017 to January 2018.

William Rainbow began their education in 2011 at Abbeyfield School, where they obtained GCSE qualifications. From 2016 to 2018, they attended Moulton College and completed the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Development, Coaching and Fitness, specializing in Football Academy. In 2018, they enrolled at the University of Exeter and pursued a BSc in Exercise and Sport Sciences, which they completed in 2021. Most recently, from 2021 to 2022, William attended the University of Northampton for an MSc in Strength & Conditioning, focusing on Sports and Exercise. William also holds additional certifications, including Emergency First Aid in Football, obtained in June 2023 from The Football Association, and Youth Mental Health First Aid, obtained in June 2023 from MHFA England®.
