Dan Cooper has a strong background in IT and technical support, with a focus on law enforcement. Dan started their career at Getronics UK as a Network Analyst, where they were responsible for remote diagnostics, 3rd party escalation, and network infrastructure installations. Dan then joined Northamptonshire Police as a Network Administrator, and progressively took on roles such as Network Manager, Network & Communications Manager, and PSN Project Manager. In these positions, they managed various IT projects and implemented standardized and coordinated contracts, hardware installations, and supporting infrastructure. Dan also served as a Lead Information Technology Specialist and IT Lead on a seconded basis, where they focused on IT planning, support, and collaboration. In their most recent role as Head of Technical Support and IS Operations Senior Manager at Northamptonshire Police, they led a team of over forty people and successfully implemented numerous initiatives to improve technical capability and efficiency. Dan Cooper has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills, financial management, and the ability to navigate challenges, such as implementing a COVID-19 support strategy.

Dan Cooper attended Kingsbrook School in Deanshanger from 1984 to 1991. From 1992 to 1993, they studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at Nene College. In terms of certifications, they obtained their PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from APMG International in November 2013. In November 2009, they earned the ITIL - Intermediate Level - Planning, Protection and Optimization (PP&O) certification, as well as the ITIL Foundation Level certification. In 2008, they also obtained the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from APMG International.
