Dan Hulse has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Dan has held various roles in different industries, showcasing their adaptability and versatility.
Starting their career in 1987 at Tufts University as a Systems Engineer, Dan was responsible for designing and developing clinical laboratory and hospital data management systems. Dan worked closely with managers, directors, and end users to improve workflow efficiency and reduce operational costs.
In 1999, Dan transitioned to Macromedia/Allaire as a Project Lead/Senior Software Engineer. Dan contributed to the development of HomeSite, ColdFusion Studio, JRun Studio products, and extensions for Dreamweaver. Dan utilized technologies such as Delphi, JavaScript, HTML, XHTML, COM, ColdFusion, and Java.
Dan continued their consulting work and joined various organizations such as Cultural Logic Inc., Georgia Aquarium Inc., and Wildlife Conservation Society. During their time at the Wildlife Conservation Society, they designed and developed an animal management system and an electronic exhibit labeling system.
Moving forward, Dan joined HealthEdge in 2005 and held multiple roles. As a Senior Software Engineer, they played a crucial role in designing and implementing commercial desktop client software. Subsequently, they became the Director of Engineering for Desktop and Web Products, leading the development of desktop and web clients using modern architectures such as Microsoft .NET, C#, and ASP. Dan also served as the Director of Engineering for HealthEdge Digital, leading the creation of consumer-centric software products.
In 2016, Dan joined Gotham Whale as a Technical Lead, contributing to integrating citizens with scientists for studying and advocating marine mammals in New York City. Dan developed SOA with web and mobile applications to facilitate the sharing of marine mammal sightings and environmental data.
Recently, Dan joined American Renal Associates in 2017 as the Director of Applications, overseeing the application development process until their departure in July 2021.
Currently, Dan holds the role of Senior VP, IT Strategy at Northeast Retirement Services beginning in December 2022.
