Rodney Hanley

Rodney Hanley currently serves as the President of Northeastern State University, a position held since 2023. Before this role, Rodney was the President of Lake Superior State University from 2018 to 2023, where significant accomplishments included the establishment of a $14.5 million Center for Freshwater Research and Education. Rodney also served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fisk University, securing over $14.66 million in academic and research grants, and previously held the role of Provost & Vice-President (Academic) at Lakehead University, where funding exceeded $7 million and a $5 million structural deficit was eliminated. As Dean of Science at the University of Winnipeg, Rodney oversaw the delivery of a $67 million LEED-Certified silver science complex. Rodney's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Biology from The University of Kansas and a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge, among other credentials in strategic human resources and educational leadership.
