Avantika Velho

Biodesigner & Researcher at Northeastern University

Avantika Velho is a skilled biodesigner and researcher currently employed at Northeastern University since May 2024. Previously, Avantika served as the Lead Biodesigner and Strategist at Terreform ONE and contributed significantly to the inaugural Somerson Sustainability Innovation Fund project at the Rhode Island School of Design, focusing on modular floating bioremediation systems. With experience as a computational designer, peer tutor, and teaching assistant at RISD, Avantika has provided mentorship and support while navigating technical challenges across disciplines. Additional roles include Research & Innovation Fellow at Hyundai Motor Group, where Avantika explored functional morphologies in insects, and involvement in various collaborative projects, such as the NASA Human Rover Exploration Challenge and the STEAMRAVE exhibition.
