Executive Lead, Mental Health And Substance Use at Northern Health

Michelle Lawrence has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in mental health and substance use. Michelle started their career in 2002 as an Intake Counselor for the Aids Prevention Program and Needle Exchange at Northern Health Authority. Michelle then went on to become an Early Psychosis Clinician and later a Team Leader for the Early Psychosis and Eating Disorders Clinic. In 2009, they transitioned to the role of Manager for Mental Health and Addictions, and later became the Community Services Manager for Primary Care. In 2016, they served as the Interim Director of Community Services. Since 2017, Michelle Lawrence has been working as the Executive Lead for Mental Health and Substance Use at Northern Health - BC.

Michelle Lawrence obtained their Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Royal Roads University, where they attended from 2016 to 2018. Before that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan, which they completed between 1996 and 1999.
