Bryan Perry serves as the Vice President and General Counsel at Northern Illinois University since June 2019, acting as the chief legal officer and providing legal advice to the President and Board of Trustees. In addition, Bryan is the President of the Board of Directors for the Southside Community Art Center, the oldest African American art center in the United States. Prior to these roles, Bryan held positions as Chief of Staff and General Counsel at Baltimore City Community College, where responsibilities included advising the President and managing institutional affairs. Bryan's earlier experience includes serving as Associate General Counsel at Morgan State University and as Assistant Attorney General for the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, where legal expertise spanned various areas including personnel and contracts. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Morgan State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
