Wester Wuori

Wester Wuori, M.A., serves as the Associate Director of Strategic Communications at Northern Illinois University since December 2021. With extensive experience as a Political Strategist for various local political campaigns since 2001, responsibilities have included communications strategy, media relations, and speechwriting. Prior roles include Chief of Staff for the City of Rockford, where direction of the mayor's office operations and communications was essential, as well as Vice President at Chartwell Agency, focusing on marketing and public relations. Before that, Wester held the position of Director of Marketing & Public Relations at Mercyhealth Wisconsin and Illinois, and began a career as Communications Manager & Editor at the Rockford Chamber of Commerce. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor's degree in English, History, and Political Science from Rockford University.
