Caryn Connelly currently serves as the Acting Chair of the Department of History and as an Associate Professor of Spanish at Northern Kentucky University since August 2007. Responsibilities include teaching beginning and intermediate Spanish courses, as well as specialized classes in Latin American literature and film, with focuses on Mexican cinema and Latin American women writers and filmmakers. Additionally, Caryn directs the Northern Kentucky World Languages Festival and previously held the position of Chairperson of the Department of World Languages and Literatures. Caryn's earlier academic experience includes roles as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish at Miami University and as an Adjunct Instructor of Spanish at Wright State University. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Languages, Literatures, and Cultures from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in Spanish Linguistics from Arizona State University.
