Brock Tessman

Brock Tessman currently serves as the President of Northern Michigan University, a position held since January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy Commissioner for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs at the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education from August 2018 to January 2023, and holding the role of Dean at the University of Montana from July 2015 to August 2018. Brock Tessman also directed the Graduate Programs In International Affairs from August 2012 to July 2015 and worked as Associate Director at the Center for the Study of Global Issues (Globis) from August 2009 to July 2015. Earlier academic roles include Associate Professor and Assistant Professor of International Affairs at the University of Georgia from July 2006 to July 2015. Educational credentials include a PhD in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder (1998-2004) and a BA in International Relations from Brown University (1994-1998).
