Bennett Yan is an experienced metallurgist with a diverse background in process and plant metallurgy. Currently serving as a Plant Metallurgist at Northern Star Resources Limited since June 2021, Yan previously held the position of Process Metallurgist at China Energy Storage Materials (Dalian) LTD, where notable contributions included developing control strategies for rotary kiln operations and collaborating on vanadium, titanium, and iron recovery processes. Earlier experience includes process research with the Center for Global Engineering on sanitation technology for developing countries and serving as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto, where facilitation of hands-on learning in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy occurred. Yan's practical skills were further honed during an internship at Xstrata Copper, focusing on laboratory tests and standard operating procedures. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Material Science and Engineering, both from the University of Toronto.
