James Sweeney

James Sweeney is a skilled metallurgical professional with extensive experience in the mining and metallurgical industry. Currently serving as Metallurgical Superintendent at Northern Star Resources Limited since November 2020, James has also held roles as Senior Metallurgist, Project Metallurgist, and Plant Metallurgist. Prior to this, James worked at Ausenco for two years as a Senior Metallurgist and Plant Metallurgist. James began a career at Glencore Copper, gaining valuable experience as a Graduate Metallurgist in both the Smelter and Concentrator divisions, notably providing technical support during the Mount Isa Copper Smelter Re-Brick shutdown. James holds a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Chemical Engineering from The University of Queensland, completed in 2016.
