Lara Levine Buti has extensive work experience in the field of education, particularly in special education. Lara began their career as a Special Education Teacher at Waubonsie Valley High School in 1999 and worked there until 2001. Lara then joined the Northern Suburban Special Education District, where they held multiple roles over the years.

From 2001 to 2012, Lara served as a Special Education Teacher for the North Shore Academy. In 2012, they transitioned into the role of Instructional Coach for the same academy, providing support and guidance to other educators. In 2015, they were promoted to Assistant Principal, taking on more leadership responsibilities within the district.

Most recently, Lara held the roles of Principal of North Shore Academy and Director of Social and Emotional Learning at the Northern Suburban Special Education District, starting in June 2019. Throughout their career, Lara has demonstrated a dedication to supporting students with special needs and promoting their social and emotional well-being.
