Senior Director Digital Strategy And Advisory at Northern Territory Government

Donald Young has extensive work experience in various government departments and organizations. Donald started their career in 2009 as a Manager Corporate Systems at the NT Department of Lands and Planning. Donald later served as an A/Director Information Technology and then as a Director Information Technology in the same department. In these roles, they focused on driving policy, process, and technological efficiencies to support staff in achieving agency goals. Donald also managed a complete review of IBS services and structure, transitioned the Transport Systems team into IBS, and delivered the DriveSafe NT Online portal.

In 2012, Donald joined the Department of Lands, Planning and the Environment and the Department of Transport within the NT Government as a Director, Information Technology. Here, they provided leadership and strategic directions for technology usage in the department and played a key role in setting up and managing the department's information systems.

Donald's work experience also includes serving as a Treasurer at the YMCA of the Top End, where they were responsible for budgeting and reviewing financial reports. Donald established the YMCA Top End Opportunities Fund and achieved strong audit outcomes for the organization.

Currently, Donald holds the position of Senior Director Digital Strategy and Advisory at the Northern Territory Government - DCDD. Prior to this role, they served as the Director Digital in the Department of Education and as the Director Data Strategy. Overall, Donald has progressively taken on more senior positions and has acquired valuable experience in digital strategy, data management, information technology leadership, and financial management.

Donald Young completed their Prince2 Project Management Certification in 2009 and obtained a degree in Information Technology with a focus on Computer Science from Charles Darwin University between 2000 and 2003.
