Gareth James

Executive Director, Training Nt, Department Of Business at Northern Territory Government

Gareth James has extensive work experience in various roles within the Northern Territory Government. Gareth has held executive director positions in different departments, including Training NT, Business Support and Services, and Business and Industry Development. Gareth has also served as a senior adviser/chief of staff for various ministers and as an assistant secretary in the Department of Business, Economic and Regional Development. Prior to their government roles, they worked as a deputy commissioner of Consumer Affairs and held management positions in organizational development. Gareth's early career includes roles in the Council of Social Service for Wales and the British Steel Corporation.

Gareth James attended Abertillery Grammar Technical School from 1966 to 1972. In 1978, they completed a Diploma in Industrial Management at Polytechnic of Wales, and in 1979, they studied Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General at the same institution. Gareth James also participated in the NT Government Executive Development Program at Charles Darwin University in 2004.
