Terry Browne

MD, EMEA at Northland Control Systems, Inc.

Perseverance is not just a virtue for Terry Browne, it is a way of being. Raised by a single father, Terry learned from an early age the true sense of how much personal strength and determination it takes to achieve your goals, and that understanding has only grown with time. Now a father himself, Terry’s drive for success comes from his family and his highly competitive nature.

While he may not have embraced his current work ethic while in school, Terry realized quickly that he needed an education to get to where he wanted to be in life. After five years working toward a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Terry started working as a technician and data communication engineer. He serendipitously found his way to security, as many of us do, when a friend asked him for help on an integration project in 1998. He worked his way up through the ranks from technician to project coordinator and eventually landing in project management in 2001. He attributes his attention to detail and organizational skills from his father, so it’s no surprise that his passion is providing comprehensive communication and detail-driven projects to the industry.

Terry’s path to Northland started in 2009, where he was offered the position of EMEA service manager. At the time, Northland’s presence was still growing within the European region. As service manager he helped build the technician team, wanting them to be not only the best in the industry, but the best of the Northland regions as well. Terry shared CEO Pierre Trapanese’s vision to grow EMEA with more enterprise clients, and so took on the challenge by becoming a Project Manager for Northland. Dropping back into project management came naturally for Terry, who is used to delivering exceptional service in highly demanding environments. As a result, he transitioned to program manager, than an operations manager in 2016 and was promoted to operations director in 2019 for EMEA.
