Hooman Atefi

Hooman Atefi, PhD, CEng, is an accomplished engineering professional with a focus on structural engineering and extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as Lead Principal Engineer at Northland Power Inc. for the Hai Long Offshore Wind project, Hooman has previously held key positions such as Lead Structural Engineer at DNV and Senior Structural Engineer specializing in Finite Element Analysis at Subsea 7. Early career roles included Chartered Engineer at Mott MacDonald, Embedded Researcher at the University of Cambridge, and Offshore Structural Engineer at SNC-Lavalin. Hooman also contributed to academia as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ulster, instructing on topics including ABAQUS and the Theory of Structures. Hooman holds a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from The University of Manchester and a Doctor of Philosophy in Structural Fire Engineering from Ulster University.
