Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith is an experienced electrical engineer currently serving as an Electrical Engineer III at Northrop Grumman since August 2025. Previously, Matthew held various engineering positions at EnerSys from May 2017 to July 2025, including Lead Electrical Engineer, where expertise in designing and developing electrical systems for aerospace battery projects was demonstrated, alongside proficiency in conducting thermal, vibrational, and electrical analyses. In addition, Matthew contributed to improvements in lithium-ion cell technology and qualified human-space rated battery packs to industry standards. Earlier work experience includes roles at iTECH as an Engineering Technician, focusing on battery management systems for medical devices. Matthew holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics, Electrodynamics from Point Loma Nazarene University.
