Thad Smith

Thad Smith is a seasoned professional in defense and aerospace business development, currently serving as Senior Director of Navy Business Development at Northrop Grumman since May 2023. Previously, Smith held the position of Director of Customer Requirements & Capabilities at Raytheon Technologies from May 2020 to April 2023, and has extensive experience at Raytheon from 2008 to 2020, including roles such as Director of Business Development and Senior Business Development Manager for precision stand-off strike weapon systems and air warfare systems. Smith’s career also includes serving as Program Manager at General Dynamics AIS and a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy for over a decade. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Arizona.
