Engineering Technician, Mechanical & Thermal Systems Engineering at NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes, LLC

Mike Richmond has a diverse work background. Mike started their career at Woodward, Inc. in 2019, where they worked as an Operations Technician. In this role, they utilized LEAN initiatives to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Mike also assisted in determining stress transformation points for NPI and Prototype components using mathematical analysis. Mike was proficient in using Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Word, and Office Suites.

During their time at Woodward, Inc., Mike also held the position of NDT Specialist. Mike was certified in type-2 fluorescent penetration as an ASNT certified inspector. Mike was responsible for processing, inspecting, and providing final sign off prior to Electroplating for "flight-worthy" components.

In 2023, Mike joined NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes, LLC as an Engineering R&D-Mechanical Systems Tech. In this role, they worked in the R&D Engineering Group focusing on thermal and mechanical systems. Mike contributed to the design of advanced mechanical systems for the production of radiopharmaceuticals. The work at NorthStar aimed at innovating and transforming the landscape of medical radioisotopes commercial production.

Mike Richmond has a comprehensive education history in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Mike first enrolled in Rock Valley College in 2019 and obtained an Associate's of Engineering Science degree in the same field of study in 2023. Following their time at Rock Valley College, Mike pursued further education at Arizona State University, where they are currently completing a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering, with an expected completion date in 2026.

In addition to their academic achievements, Mike has also obtained several certifications in relevant areas. In January 2019, they became a member of ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers). In June 2020, Mike obtained the Solidworks Associate of Additive Manufacturing certification from Dassault Systèmes. Mike further enhanced their skills by completing the AutoCAD - Essentials certification program from Certstaffix Training in May 2023. Additionally, Mike obtained the ASNT NDT Level II Certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) from NDT Classroom, Inc. in February 2021.
