Hugo Françon

Cell Technology Manager | Technology Strategy at Northvolt

Hugo Francon is an experienced professional in the field of material science and technology, currently serving as Cell Technology Manager in Technology Development at Northvolt since January 2022, having previously held the position of Engineering Manager in Electrode Design. Prior to this, Hugo contributed to research as a Doctoral Researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from October 2016 to February 2022, focusing on energy storage materials from renewable resources, and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan College of Engineering researching transition metal-oxide Li-ion active materials. Additional research experience includes a Guest Researcher role at RISE Bioeconomy on bio-based supercapacitors and a Master Thesis project at SOPREMA France optimizing PU foam production. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Chemistry from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and multiple degrees in Material Science and Engineering from institutions including Centrale Lyon and INSA Lyon.
