Mark Sands M.D.

Mark Sands MD, MBA, FACR currently serves as Vice President of Clinical Transformation and Improvement and Associate Chief Medical Officer at Northwell Health since January 2022. Prior to this role, Mark was the Chief Medical Officer at Stony Brook Medicine from October 2018 to December 2021, where oversight of clinical operations, quality and safety of patient care, and physician engagement were key responsibilities. Mark's extensive experience includes significant leadership positions at Cleveland Clinic from December 2000 to October 2018, such as Associate Chief Quality Officer and Chairman of the Corporate Compliance Committee. Academically, Mark holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, a Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine, and completed postgraduate medical education at the University of California, San Francisco. Mark also earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Science from Northwestern University.
