Dr. Robert Kalimi is the Chairman of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Southside Hospital within the Northwell Health System. Since joining North Shore University Hospital in 2004, Dr. Kalimi has also served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at North Shore-LIJ Health System and as Medical Director of the School of Cardiovascular Perfusion at Long Island University. They completed their cardiothoracic surgery residency at Rush Medical College and a fellowship focused on minimally invasive and robotic valve surgery at Columbia University. An accomplished author, Dr. Kalimi has published works including “Clinical Scenarios in Thoracic Surgery" and has received significant accolades such as designation as "America's Top Surgeons" in 2011.
