Adolfo Abreu

Organizing Director at Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition (NWBCCC)

Adolfo Abreu has a diverse work experience in community organizing and political campaigns. Adolfo currently serves as the Organizing Director for the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition since December 2018. Prior to this, they worked as the Field Director for Alessandra Biaggi for New York State Senate in 2018, where they successfully recruited, trained, and managed a field team. Adolfo also established benchmarks for voter contact and grassroots engagement.

From 2016 to 2018, Adolfo worked for the New York City Council, first as the Deputy Chief of Staff, where they oversaw the constituent services department and managed the Participatory Budgeting Process. Adolfo also organized tenant associations and addressed tenant concerns in the district. Later, they served as a District Representative, assisting constituents in navigating city agencies and representing the council member in various community events.

In 2016, Adolfo worked as the Field Director for Gustavo Rivera for New York State Senate, where they again recruited, trained, and managed a field team.

Adolfo'searlier experience includes working as a Youth Leader for the Urban Youth Collaborative from 2006 to 2011, leading educational justice campaigns and building relationships with youth and staff members of the organization. Additionally, they held the position of Youth Organizer for the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition from 2005 to 2011, where they established relationships with stakeholders, facilitated leadership development trainings, and led a successful advocacy effort for the Student Safety Act.

Throughout their career, Adolfo Abreu has demonstrated strong leadership skills, a commitment to grassroots engagement, and a passion for community organizing and advocacy.

Adolfo Abreu pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Studies from Trinity College-Hartford, from 2011 to 2015.
