Steve Hough is an experienced professional in law enforcement and education, currently serving as the Executive Director of Academic Planning, Excellence, and Acceleration at Northwest Florida State College since April 2023, while also working as a Data Analyst. Prior to this role, Steve held the position of Chief Operating Officer at First H.E.L.P from July 2022 to August 2023, and served as an Inspector and Polygraph Examiner at the Walton County Sheriff's Office from May 2017 to October 2022. Steve also directed media relations for Honor Them, a nonprofit focused on mental health support for first responders, and owned Type A Solutions and Kopis Polygraph Securities, specializing in emergency training and polygraph services, respectively. Previous experience includes coordinating the Criminal Justice Training Center at Northwest Florida State College and working as a polygraph examiner and investigator at the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. Steve holds a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University.
