Boyd Austin

Boyd Austin is the Executive Director of the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission since July 2022, overseeing regional planning and development for 15 counties and 48 municipalities in Northwest Georgia. Austin serves as President of Key Partners Consulting, LLC, offering consulting services grounded in over 30 years of experience in government roles. Additionally, Austin held the position of Past Chairman at the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District and was a Board Member for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Previous experience includes Properties Manager at Homeplace Communities Management, member of the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority Board of Directors, and Board member for the Georgia Municipal Association. Austin served as the Mayor of the City of Dallas, Georgia, from January 1996 to March 2020 and has been involved with the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission since 1996. Austin holds a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Georgia, earned between 1980 and 1984.
