Cathleen Jensen

Executive Director, K-12 Special Education at Northwest Regional Education Service District

Cathy Jensen is the Executive Director of K-12 Special Education at Northwest Regional Education Service District. She has been in this role since July 2018. In this role, she oversees several programs, including Regional Inclusive Services, Contracted Special Education staffing, and Social Emotional Learning School Programs. She previously worked as a Special Education Coordinator at NWRESD.

Cathy first joined the NWRESD team in 1997 as a School Psychologist. She worked in various roles while assigned to Tigard-Tualatin School District over the course of 17 years, including supports to behavior classrooms, professional learning for educators supporting students with complex behavioral needs, and coordinating a district Behavior Support Team. She is particularly interested in improving outcomes for students with complex needs through culturally sustaining practices, evidence-based interventions and multi-tiered systems of support. Cathy earned a Master of Science degree in School Psychology at Lewis and Clark College in 1997.
