Dean Calsbeek

Dean of Natural and Applied Sciences at Northwestern College

Dean Calsbeek has been Dean of Natural and Applied Sciences at Northwestern College since 2018. Prior to that, they served as the college's Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty from 2014-2018. Dean also taught biology at the college from 2001-2014. Calsbeek received their Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from the University of Minnesota in 2001.

Dean Calsbeek has a Ph.D. in Physiology from Colorado State University and a B.A. in Biology - Health Professions from Northwestern College.

Dean Calsbeek works with Jay Wielenga - Vice President for Advancement, Kent Wiersema - Vice President for Finance and Operations, and D. Nathan Phinney - Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dean Calsbeek reports to Greg Christy, President.
