Catie Schmit

Catie Schmit currently serves as President and Chief Nurse Executive at Northwestern Medicine since February 2018. Prior to this role, Catie was the Director of Emergency Services at Centegra Health System from January 2015 to January 2018, and held several positions within the same organization including Assistant Director of Emergency Services, Emergency Room Manager, and Emergency Room Nurse from December 2000 to January 2014. Earlier in Catie's career, experience included working as an Oncology Nurse at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital from July 1995 to December 2000. Catie holds a Master's degree in Nursing Administration from Aurora University (2015-2017), a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Rush University (1993-1995), and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from Eastern Illinois University (1989-1993).
