Northwestern Michigan College
Andrew Robitshek was appointed in November of 2021 to fill a vacancy on the Board until December 31, 2022.
A long-time Traverse City resident, Robitshek is the son of a retired school speech pathologist and the nephew of a retired university professor who grew up with a core belief in the power of education and pursuing secondary education. After graduating with an undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon in Industrial Management, Robitshek completed a MA in Telecommunications from George Washington University while working a full-time position, and then later went on to secure an MBA from Northwestern University.
Robitshek owns Bay Motor Products, and has served on the boards of multiple local organizations including the Great Lakes Children's Museum, Traverse Area Community Sailing, Traverse City Noon Rotary, Honor Bank, Congregation Ahavat Shalom and Jewish Vocation Services. Robitshek's NMC ties include taking extended education classes, attending International Affairs Forum and Dennos Museum events and mentoring student's in NMC's former Upward Bound program. He's also worked with multiple employees to take classes at NMC to help grow their careers, and was an active volunteer for the NMC Barbecue, running and coordinating the Rotary grilling for many years.

Northwestern Michigan College
Northwestern Michigan College is a publicly funded community college that serves more than 50,000 learners annually throughout the Grand Traverse region and beyond. NMC offers associate’s degrees and professional certificates, and bachelor's degrees through the Great Lakes Maritime Academy and Great Lakes Freshwater Studies Institute. Eight partner universities grant baccalaureate, graduate and doctoral degrees through the NMC University Center. NMC's Extended Education program offers a wide array of non-credit classes to more than 10,000 local residents annually.
