Heather Thompson

Heather Thompson is an experienced application security engineer currently working at Northwestern Mutual since August 2021, focusing on security controls and information risk management. Prior to this, Heather held roles as an information security engineer at Farm Credit Services of America, and as a security analyst at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, where responsibilities included implementing security policies and monitoring systems for compliance. Heather's experience also includes working at Bank of the West as an infrastructure engineer, and at Gordmans as an information security analyst, where security monitoring and incident response were key functions. Educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity from Bellevue University and an Associate’s Degree in Network and System Administration from ITT Technical Institute. Current studies are ongoing at Metropolitan Community College.
