James Makowski

James Makowski has extensive experience in the financial services industry, currently serving as Chief Growth and Strategy Officer at Northwestern Mutual since 1997, with a strong focus on compliance and risk management. Over the years, roles have included Principal - Distribution Performance, Regional Director, and various positions within the Compliance/Best Practices Department, where strategies are developed to create a culture of compliance. Prior to Northwestern Mutual, James was a Research Assistant at the Medical College of Wisconsin from 1993 to 1997. Academically, James holds a Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, a Certified Regulatory Compliance Professional credential from The Wharton School, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marquette University.
