Jackie Milhans, PhD, serves as the Director of Research Computing and Data at Northwestern University since October 2013, leading strategic planning and overseeing research support services, including research computing, data management, and data science. Prior roles at Northwestern include Associate Director and Manager of Computing and Data Support Services, where responsibilities encompassed designing and delivering research support services while aligning them with community needs. Jackie has previously held positions at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, and at Innovative Materials Design & Processing, focusing on material design and microstructure analysis. Earlier academic experiences include graduate research at Georgia Institute of Technology and collaborative research at École nationale supérieure des mines de Paris. Jackie earned a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS in Materials Science and Engineering with a Minor in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
