Murad Alam

Murad Alam is an accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in dermatology and leadership roles within various medical organizations. Currently serving as the Immediate Past President of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the Immediate Past President of the Illinois Dermatologic Society, Murad Alam also holds positions as Incoming President Elect and Board Member at the American Academy of Dermatology, along with membership in the Dermatology Review Committee at ACGME since June 2024. At Northwestern University, Murad Alam is a Professor of Medical Social Science and Dermatology, with a focus on cutaneous and aesthetic surgery, complemented by research interests in clinical outcomes. Additional roles include being a voting member of the FDA Panel on General and Plastic Surgery Devices and a member of the Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer Panel at the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Murad Alam's educational credentials include an MD from Yale School of Medicine, an MS in Clinical Investigation, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
