Valerie E.

Valerie E. is currently a Research Assistant at Northwestern University, collaborating with Dr. Milkie Vu to design a digital health intervention focused on increasing HPV vaccination rates within the Vietnamese community in Chicago. Valerie participates in the NU Bioscientist program to gain foundational research knowledge and skills. Additionally, Valerie serves as a Kode with Klossy Scholar and is a member of the Junior Leadership Council at Northwell Health, where efforts involve developing health initiatives and a sexual education website for local communities. As a Thrive Scholar, Valerie benefits from a college success program aimed at high-achieving, first-generation low-income students, which includes intensive academic training and internship experience. Furthermore, Valerie is engaged in the Code Next Connect Scholar program by Google, focusing on computer science skills, and has participated in the Young Minds Summer Leadership Academy to enhance leadership capabilities. Valerie is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Health at Northwestern University from 2023 to 2027, following graduation from Bay Shore High School in June 2023.
