Emily Talbot

Chief Curator at Norton Simon Museum

Emily Talbot is the current Chief Curator at Norton Simon Museum. Emily has held this position since February 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Acting Chief Curator from November 2018 to January 2020. Emily has been with Norton Simon Museum since March 2017, when they started as an Assistant Curator.

Before their time at Norton Simon Museum, Emily was the Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow at University of Michigan Museum of Art from September 2015 to August 2016. Before that, they were a Curatorial Assistant at The Museum of Modern Art from July 2007 to June 2010.

Emily Talbot has a PhD in Theirtory of Art from the University of Michigan, an MA in Theirtory of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London, and an MA in Museum Studies from New York University. Emily also has a BA in Fine Arts from New York University.

Emily Talbot reports to Walter W. Timoshuk, President & Chief Executive Officer. Emily Talbot works with Patrick Goldsworthy - Director of Facilities, Nels Ortlund - Director of Security, and Ronald H. Dykhuizen - Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer.
