Norðurál
Óttar Kjartansson is a seasoned mechanical specialist currently working at Norðurál since April 2021, focusing on the future planning and implementation of production equipment and managing capital projects. Previous experience includes roles at Carbon Recycling International from March 2016 to May 2020, where responsibilities encompassed installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment, as well as project engineering and design. Óttar also served as a product manager for fish meal equipment at Hamar ehf, an installation engineer at KM stál, and contributed to geothermal power plant design at Green Energy Group AS. Furthermore, extensive international project engineering experience was gained at Aalborg Energie Technik a/s, along with an internship at Vattenfall's Nordjyllandsværket power plant. Óttar holds a Master’s degree in Project Management from Reykjavik University and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aalborg University, complemented by prior education in mechanics and environmental studies.
