Karen Silverman

Karen Silverman is the Managing Partner of the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins, Co-chair of the firm’s Information Technology: Systems & Solutions Industry group and a member of the Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Ms. Silverman advises a variety of clients, from young to enterprise-sized, on their most strategic and complex transactions and internal competition issues. Her work focuses on obtaining merger control clearances in the US and globally, as well as cartel defense and commercial pricing and distribution issues. Ms. Silverman works closely with both corporate and litigation partners, displaying her extensive experience in the high technology, biotechnology, consumer products, entertainment, media, health care and retail industries.

Before joining Latham, Ms. Silverman worked at the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division as Special Assistant to the Assistant Attorney General, and in the Foreign Commerce Section. In 1993, she returned to private practice, and to the Bay Area in 1996.
