Kevin Chih-Yao obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Kevin Chih-Yao further pursued their studies at Stanford University, where they earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from 2007 to 2009.
