David Tsao

David Tsao currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Notion, overseeing Platform Security, IT, and Security Engineering since November 2025. As a co-founder of Silicon Valley CISO Investments, David Tsao plays a pivotal role in shaping the cybersecurity industry as an angel investor and advisor to startups. David Tsao has previously held CISO roles at Instacart and BYTON, where responsibilities ranged from Security Engineering and IT to Governance, Risk, and Compliance. Prior to these positions, David Tsao served as the Global Information Security Officer at Veeva Systems and held various roles at Gilead Sciences, where foundational enterprise information security programs were established. David Tsao holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Pacific Union College and has contributed to the cybersecurity field through multiple advisory and board roles.
