Barry Skutt

Chief Executive Officer at Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi

Barry Skutt has a diverse work experience in various tribal organizations. Barry is currently serving as the CEO for the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi since 2018. Prior to this, they worked for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan as the Director of Utilities from 2008. In this role, they were responsible for managing water treatment plants, wastewater plants, maintenance of government and public safety buildings, recycling program, and campground. Barry also played a crucial role in the development of an electrical substation for the Saganing project. Before joining the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, Barry worked as the Interim Assistant Health Administrator from 2002 to 2007.

Barry Skutt received an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Natural Sciences from Delta College from 1993 to 1997. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University, completing it between 1997 and 2001. Later, Barry earned a Master of Science in Administration (MSA) degree in General Administration from Central Michigan University, which they completed from 2007 to 2013. In terms of additional certifications, they received a Certified Dream Manager certification from Floyd Consulting in November 2020.
