Rachel Handforth

Rachel Handforth is a Senior Lecturer in Doctoral Education and Civic Engagement at Nottingham Trent University since January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Research and Evaluation Project Manager at The Careers Research and Advisory Centre (CRAC) Limited from 2019 to 2022, where Rachel focused on commissioned research in the higher education sector. Previous roles include Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University, where Rachel conducted evaluation projects and presented research internationally, and a PhD Researcher exploring the career aspirations of women doctoral students. Rachel has also contributed to various educational initiatives and research projects at institutions such as Sheffield Hallam Students' Union and the Union of UEA Students. Rachel holds a PhD in Education, a Master’s Degree in Research Methods in Sociology, Planning and Policy, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and History from Sheffield Hallam University and the University of East Anglia, respectively.
