Jason Monks has extensive experience in information governance and data protection, currently serving as the Acting Data Protection Officer at Nottinghamshire County Council since August 2018, where responsibilities include full team management and embedding data protection functions within the council. Prior to this role, Jason served as a Senior Information Governance Advisor, supporting the development of a strategic Information Governance Service, and as an Information Governance Advisor, performing data protection impact assessments and liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office. Jason began a career at Nottingham City Council in various roles, including Records Officer, where significant accomplishments included the development of a council-wide Information Asset Register. Jason holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Criminology from Nottingham Trent University.
