Manfred Mui has extensive experience in product safety and manufacturing compliance. Manfred is currently serving as the Director of Product Safety and Manufacturing Compliance at Nourison, where they oversee various consumer product areas in home decor and hospitality goods. Prior to this, Manfred held multiple roles at Randa Accessories, including Director of QA and Factory Compliance, Director of Industrial Design and Quality Control, and Industrial Design Manager in their Luggage and Travel Division. Manfred has also worked as a Product Designer at Marchon Eyewear, focusing on eyewear design from concept to production. Manfred began their career as a Product Designer at Badanco Luggage Inc, specializing in travel-ware design. Manfred has also worked as a Graduate Assistant at Pratt Institute and as a Product Design Intern at Prime Studio.
Manfred Mui's education history begins in 1989, when they attended George School's Summer Institute for the Gifted. Manfred then moved on to Bronx High School of Science in 1989, followed by Stuyvesant High School from 1990 to 1993. In 1993, Manfred enrolled at the University of Michigan, where they pursued a Bachelor of Industrial Design (BID) degree until 1997. Manfred'scoursework at the University of Michigan focused on the College of Engineering Core, as well as Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering within the BSE(ME) program from 1993 to 1995. After completing their bachelor's degree, Manfred attended the College for Creative Studies from 1997 to 1998, taking a continuing education course in Transportation Design Drawing specifically for automotive design. Lastly, from 1998 to 2002, they attended Pratt Institute, where they earned a Master of Industrial Design (MID) degree. Manfred'sstudies at Pratt Institute mainly concentrated on Industrial Design and Production Methods.
