Deputy Project Director - Ast2 Venture at NOVA Chemicals

Mark Field has extensive work experience in the engineering and project management field. Mark started their career at Cascades - Norampac as a Project Manager, where they successfully managed a plant expansion and modernization project. Mark then became the Maintenance Manager, leading a team of maintenance personnel and overseeing preventative maintenance and emergency breakdowns.

Mark later joined NOVA Chemicals, where they held various positions of increasing responsibility. Mark worked as a Mechanical Engineer, providing pressure containment support and coordinating engineering plans. Mark then became a Regional Extrusion Engineer, leading major growth projects and supporting product development.

Mark's role then transitioned to Sr. Project Engineer, where they led the development of debottleneck projects across different reactor technologies. Mark also participated in business case preparation and company integration efforts. Mark further advanced to the role of Area Project Manager, where they co-managed a $2B greenfield polyethylene facility project.

Their most recent role at NOVA Chemicals is the Deputy Project Director - AST2 Venture, where they develop and executes project demobilization plans and supports the transition from a construction site to an operating facility. Mark consolidates and manages supporting functions and supports the onboarding of operations teams.

Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated expertise in project management, engineering, and operations. Mark has successfully managed large projects, developed strategic plans, and collaborated with various stakeholders.

Mark Field obtained a Mechanical Design degree from Lambton College in 1999 and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science with a focus on Mechanical Engineering from Western University from 1999 to 2004.
